3 CCH Tagetik features that improve efficiency
by Jenny Leow
In many CCH Tagetik environments, daily work is shaped by established processes, familiar reports, and routines that already function well. In the midst of ensuring that reporting deadlines are met, it is easy to miss updates or overlook newly introduced features. As a result, valuable functionalities that could save time, reduce manual effort, and boost overall productivity often go unused.

Which 3 CCH Tagetik features help you improve your daily work?
Our CCH Tagetik experts have analyzed the updates and picked the ones who we think will be beneficial for you to implement in practice. We have categorized these into User and Admin features.
-
Rules Engine Designer (RED) gives finance more room to adjust
This is a feature specifically aimed at financial close & consolidation users. The powerful Rules Engine Designer (RED) is finance owned and done without coding, which means that users can define and adjust logic without coding expertise.
If you’re a CCH Tagetik user, RED enables you to have greater control, increase speed in your consolidation and reporting processes and reduces manual error. This engine can help you with complex financial rules for consolidation, allocation, and currency translation.

Work smarter with the Process Hub
Another feature that is aimed at users, smart workflow features can make a noticeable difference during financial processes such as closing or planning processes.
When working through a close or consolidation process, there is often no clear place to flag an issue or leave feedback for a colleague. Comment Threads in Process Hub solve this directly on the task. Write a note, tag a colleague, attach a file, and they receive an email with a link straight to it. Everything is timestamped and tracked.
This enables you to create a cleaner visual layout, less scrolling and less ambiguity over who said what. Also, it eliminates chasing people by email. The Comment Threads in Process Hub will extend to data entry forms in a future release, making it equally useful during planning cycles where assumptions regularly need to be explained or challenged.

Manage configuration changes with the Configuration Deployment Tool
This feature is specifically aimed at admins. Moving configuration between environments has historically meant exporting an entire analytical workspace, even when you only needed to move one thing. The Configuration Deployment Tool removes that constraint.
Whether you want to move a single DTP, dataset, data source mapping, or a virtual dataset, you can now push this straight to the target environment. Every transfer is logged with the user and timestamp. And if something goes wrong, it can be rolled back. The Configuration Deployment Tool is currently available for analytical workspaces, with financial workspace support coming in a later release.
Why these CCH Tagetik features deserve a closer look
These features often show their value once teams see them in a practical context. What looks like a small addition at first can often make daily work noticeably easier when applied in the right process.
